"You're A "Great Girl?" Just Wrong Timing? Well, Lets Clear Up That Lie" -Heather Lindsey

Posted on 5:12 PM by john cena

"You're such a great girl. Wonderful woman, just wrong timing." Translation:: "I'm not totally sold on you and I'm still weighing my options.

If I plant the seed in your head that one day... we MAY be together, you may stay emotionally attached to me in hopes of one day it will work out. When I'm lonely, I will call you, text you & email you because I still have you strung along. I have no intentions of being with you or marrying you, matter of fact-- I'm NOWHERE near ready to get married or even thinking about marriage.

I just tell you what you want to hear until I meet someone I really want to be with.
Until then, you and a few other girls are readily available if I need a date or some loving. Then, one day-- I will quickly become committed to a woman that I really want to be with & you will be mad at me."

Sis, guess what? A godly man understands this truth: YOU are a good women. And if HE doesn't pursue you, another man will. HE will recognize your WORTH, value, substance and heart. So, cut off these little boys & make sure that God is first in your heart. In due time, He will introduce you to HIS son. His son with purpose, direction & he won't play childish games. Godly men, want a godly woman. The end.

New African Emoji's Launch On Google Play

Posted on 3:46 PM by john cena

african emoji
Good news for emoji lovers!  A Martiain based company has set up a cultural emoji app which can now be downloaded at Google play.

From Huffington Post:
As of now, Apple's iPhone features only two cartoon emoji that represent non-white people: One is a vaguely Asian-looking man, the other a man with a turban:

african emoji
Apple knows this is a problem. Just last week, a company representative told MTV that "there needs to be more diversity in the emoji character set" and that Apple is "working closely" with the Unicode consortium, the group that specifies how all text and characters show up on computers, to make changes.

Thanks to Oju Africa, an app company based in Mauritius, an island nation off the southeast coast of Africa, Apple should now have something of a blueprint.

The company has developed a series of African emoji that are currently available for download on Google Play. The app is free, but only compatible with external apps like WhatsApp and Twitter for now. Here's how they look:

Man Allowed A Hyena To Eat His Genitals Because A Witch Doctor Told Him It Would Make Him Rich

Posted on 11:29 AM by john cena

Mr Zulu, from Malawi, said he was told by a witch doctor that if he sacrificed some of his body parts he would become rich
A Malawian man has been left without genitals and with three missing toes after a witch doctor told him that losing his body parts would make him rich.

Chamangeni Zulu was admitted to Chipata General Hospital after a hyena bit off his manhood and three toes on his left foot in the very bizarre circumstance.

Mr Zulu told the Times of Zambia yesterday that he was promised by a witch doctor that by sacrificing his body parts he would bring wealth to him.

Mr Zulu narrated his ordeal from his hospital bed yesterday.

“I came from Malawi and when I arrived in Chipata I met some business persons who told me that the best way to become rich was to sacrifice parts of my body.
“On 24th March, 2014 around 04:00 hours, I went to a bush where I was instructed to be naked and a hyena came to me and started eating my toes and eventually my manhood was eaten”.

He said the witchdoctor had not indicated the body parts that would be ‘lost’ and how, although he was told he would encounter a hyena.
Mr Zulu said after the incident, he crawled to a nearby road where some Police officers picked him and took him to the hospital.

“Even if I have lost some important parts of my body, I still want to get rich,” he said.
He said he had stayed in Zambia for four months as he was doing ‘piecework’ to earn a living.
Chipata General Hospital acting medical superintendent Humphrey Chanda described Mr Zulu’s condition as stable.

Ridiculous!!

Deadly Ebola Virus Spreads To Second Country In West Africa

Posted on 11:17 AM by john cena

Image AP Photo/Kjell Gunnar Beraas, Medecins Sans Frontieres
The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on Sunday that the deadly outbreak of the Ebola virus  has now spread to Liberia. The virus has so far killed at least 70 people in neighbouring  Guinea.

In a statement, the WHO confirmed two samples of blood from Liberia tested positive for Ebola - a virus with a fatality rate of up to 90 per cent - and described the African outbreak as a 'rapidly changing situation'.

Worryingly nearby two recent deaths in Sierra Leone have further been attributed to Ebola.

According to the UN's chief public health body, 'There have been 2 deaths among the suspected cases in Liberia; a 35 year old woman who died on 21 March tested positive for ebola virus while a male patient who died on 27 March tested negative.'

Isolation zone: Areas like this one in Conakry, Guinea have been set up to quarantine Ebola sufferers
Daily Mail reports that Ebola is passed onto humans from animals - especially fruit bats - and often breaks out near rainforests in central and western Africa.
According to a WHO fact sheet: Ebola 'is a severe acute viral illness often characterised by the sudden onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat.

WHO and partners support Ebola outbreak response in Guinea

'This is followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding. Laboratory findings include low white blood cell and platelet counts and elevated liver enzymes.'
The intensely painful illness is highly contagious and can be passed on to humans through contact with the bodies of people killed by the virus.

There is no known cure or vaccine for the five viruses which cause Ebola.
Guinea confirmed last week that several victims of hemorrhagic fever in the country's southern region had tested positive for Ebola. Cases have also been confirmed in the capital, Conakry.
The WHO is devoting extra resources to surveillance and tracking of cases in response to the outbreak - which has been dubbed an epidemic by some news sources - and is training health care workers in the region.
Ebola has killed an estimated 1500 people since it was first discovered in Zaire in 1976.

Traditional Wedding: Aso Ebi

Posted on 10:55 AM by john cena

We've already prepared you for Wedding season on African Sweetheart with our last post titled- Wedding Inspiration: Stunning Yoruba Couples!
Get ready for more Wedding inspiration galore!

More stylish aso ebi

An Aso Ebi is an outfit made from matching fabric to be worn by a group of people to a party, wedding, or funeral as a uniform. Wearing a certain aso ebi identifies the group of wearers. For instance, at a wedding, all the bride's friends might wear blue and gold, the bride's family might wear white and gold, and the groom's friends might wear black and pink, and so on.

Usually at weddings, the various fabrics for the aso ebi are decided by the bride, and are then announced to all the guests months in advance so they can prepare their outfits. Guests are usually expected to buy the aso ebi from the bride, but close friends and family members and certain prominent individuals may be presented with the aso ebi as a gift.

Aso ebi for parties and funerals are generally simple, but aso ebi for weddings may involve many complex changes with entirely different aso ebi for different days of the wedding, and for the reception.
