The Obama's Attend Easter Service At Nineteenth Street Baptist Church

The Obama family attended an Easter service in the capital, which drew special attention from the pastor and a hearty reception from the congregation.

Reverend Dr. Derrick Harkins welcomed the family saying, "Let me just say, to the first family, to the President of the United States, Barack Obama, to the first lady of the United States, and Miss Malia and Sasha, we welcome you."

The first family had received criticism for missing church on Christmas Eve and Christmas while on vacation in Hawaii four months ago, so this Easter church attendance did not go unnoticed.
