The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Begin Their Tour of New-Zealand And Australia With Prince George

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Wellington Airport with Prince George this morning on the first day of a three-week trip in Australia with their adorable 8-month-old son Prince George stealing the show.

The chubby toddler wore a cream cardigan over a white shirt, the look was finished with soft leather shoes and socks.

Kate too looked elegant in a pillar-box red coat by Catherine Walker, a British designer said to be  favoured by William’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and a pillbox hat by Gina Foster.

Although the three week trip has been more than a year in the planning, it has very much been designed with baby George in mind, according to aides.

Traditional: George's outfit was a modern version of the smocked top and peach bloomer style shorts that William wore when he visited the country at the same age
Fresh change: Kate and her son took the opportunity to change during the flight which was delayed by 20 minutes
The royal party was greeted by strong winds and rain, the AFP news agency reported. The tour ends in Canberra on 25 April
